Introduction

The basic structure of an ultrasonic transducer consists of a piezoelectric material, typically a ceramic or a polymer, sandwiched between two electrodes. The piezoelectric material, still acting as a transducer, converts these mechanical vibrations caused by the returning ultrasonic waves into electrical signals. These electrical signals can then be processed and analyzed for various purposes, such as imaging or measurement.
